Oahu Beaches - Halona Cove Beach, From Here to Eternity Beach

lava shelf on left side of beach

Oahu’s Halona Cove Beach – the Here to Eternity Beach, has lava rock shelves on the left and right sides that give you a little varied topography if you want to lay out on some flat rock instead of your typical sand.

Free things to do on Oahu: Explore the lava rock shelves at Halona Cove Beach

Its fun to walk out on those shelves and get near (but not too close) to the pounding surf. The adventurous can keep explore this region as it goes pretty far back and around. Do exercise extreme caution, however.  This place can get really wild under certain conditions. Be very, very careful.

Beach Gear Guide

Here’s what we tend to bring when planning a full day at the beach:

• Collapsable beach chairs

• Collapsable tent

• Large mat to place on sand, enough for 4-6 people to sit and eat.

• Water, food, and coolers. We love tuna sandwiches so we’ll typically mix up a bunch of tuna and mayo, store it in a container, and bring along a loaf of bread.

• Juice drinks (try Hawaiian Sun brand).

• Chips, nuts, trail mixes.

• Candy bars/nut bars.

• Big hats to shade the sun.

• UV rash guard shirts

• Sunglasses

• Waterproof sunscreen

• Snorkel gear

• Swimming goggles

• Bodyboards

• Fins

• Two beach towels per person

• Change of dry clothes

• Plastic grocery bags (to store wet clothes)
